Material Feed Systems

Hydrotech will customize/automate the feed and processing of industrial sealants, adhesives and lubricants from any size container from small cartridges to bulk tanks. Pump systems are available for high viscous, corrosive & abrasive materials from 1cps up to 5 million cps. Process controls available to automate vessel filling with variable level controls, heating/cooling, vacuum degassing, agitation, and downstream color injection. Low - Medium Viscosity Material

Pressure Vessels

 

 

Automate the processing and feed of low-medium viscosity materials from many types and sizes of pressure vessels. Vessels can be filled manually from small containers, or automatically filled from any other container. Pressure vessels are ideal for automating processing of materials prior to final dispensing. Pressure vessels are used to heat, agitate, degas, and continuously feed materials to the metering/dispensing system.

 

55 Gallon Drums

 

 

Materials received in 55 gallon drums feed directly to the metering/dispensing system or to pressure vessels to further processing. Drum pumps, elevators, agitators, gravity feed drum racks and custom level controls are available to automate continuous material feed from drums.

Bulk Containers

 

 

Pump packages are available to automate the feed from bulk containers or drum racks. Bulk containers gravity feed to pump assemblies. The pumps feed materials under controlled pressure directly to the metering/dispensing system or to pressure vessels for further processing .

 

 

 

Supply pumps - High Viscosity Material

Supply pumps -- Hydrotech will help specify the best material supplu pump from many sources. Pumps are available in steel, stainless steel and hard metal. Supply pump sizes are available to automate material feed from cartridges, 1Kg and 1 gallon cans, 5 & 6 gallon pails, 1/4 ½ and 55 gallon drums, drum racks, totes and gondolas. Pneumatic controls include low level alarms, automatic shut off, and automatic actuation of back up pumps in crossover.

Mini Pump

Transfer / Specialty pumps

 

 

Double diaphragm and piston transfer pumps automate feed of low – medium viscosity materials from cartridges, resiviors, drums, up to totes and gondolas. Customized pump assembly options include pump lifts, agitators, drum racks and tote/gondola valve hardware

   

Pump level and cross over controls.

The level sensor detects that the drum is empty the system automatically switches the air out of the drive cylinder and directs it through a whistle.  The whistle provides an audible alarm that the drum needs to be replaced.  The main benefit of this system however is that the air is diverted out of the drive cylinder and the pump stops in mid stroke.  This is provides several benefits.  First the air motor will not "run away" and burn out when the container is empty.  The second benefit is that the whistle can be removed and the air line can be used to easily connect a back up/crossover pump. The third and most important benefit is that no air is pumped into the system.  Keeping air out of the system increases metering accuracy, improves production quality, and eliminates hours of bleeding material (waste) out of the system to remove the entrapped air at every container change.
